Hi, I’m Mara — the hands (and heart) behind Peaceful Chaos Embroidery.

I’ve always been a little crafty and a lot curious, born with the “it can’t be that hard” gene and a love for making things my own. I grew up learning the basics of embroidery and sewing, often adding personal touches to my clothes whenever inspiration struck.

But it wasn’t until after my son was born that I found myself returning to embroidery — this time not just as a hobby, but as a way to calm my anxious hands and busy mind. Amid the beautiful chaos of raising two kids, stitching became my sanctuary.

Before motherhood, I was a full-blown workaholic in the restaurant world, juggling shifts and responsibilities like it was second nature. Even after my daughter was born in 2016, I jumped right back in. But life changed after my son arrived — I was fortunate enough to stay home, and with that shift came the desire to create something just for me… and maybe for you, too.

Peaceful Chaos Embroidery is my way of contributing creatively and building a space for others to do the same. I offer beginner-friendly digital downloads with stitch guides, tips and tricks I’ve learned firsthand, and a gentle push to just start. I also specialize in custom family portraits and embroidered bridal bouquets — heirloom keepsakes that won’t wilt or fade with time.

Eventually, I hope to offer full embroidery kits to make it even easier to dive into this beautiful, meditative craft.

More than anything, I want Peaceful Chaos to feel like a creative bubble — where beginners and pros alike can slow down, stitch something meaningful, and leave with a finished piece that feels like a deep breath made tangible. Whether you’re a mom, an artist, or someone looking for a moment of peace in your day, there’s a place for you here.

The name “Peaceful Chaos” came to me during a conversation with my children’s grandmother. I was reflecting on life — single motherhood, the constant motion, the joyful mess — and I said, “I’m at peace in the chaos of my own making.” That stuck. Because this business, this art, and this life? They’re mine. And I’m honored to share a piece of that with you.
